Day Camps

Day Camps

Blossoming Flower will be offering the following day camp programs for infants to youth and families:

  • seasonal half-day and full-day 12 week camps
  • non-instructional and school holiday day camps for children and youth in other school systems
  • week long summer camps
  • facilitated school field trips

Our inclusive, innovative day camps invite Indigenous and non-Indigenous people to play, learn and work together on the land. We integrate Indigenous language, culture, traditions and practices, and the Forest School model into our programming approach.

Our day camps are based at kihcihkaw askî in Edmonton, Alberta.  kihcihkaw askî is an Indigenous ceremonial and cultural site. This centrally located site is located in the forest, ideal for connecting people to Indigenous culture and land-based learning. The site is accessible on foot, bike, public transit, and personal vehicle.

In this era of Truth and Reconciliation, Blossoming Flower aims to be at the forefront of progressive reciprocal relationship reform. One way we are addressing the inequities faced by Indigenous people to access traditional lands, cultural teachings and their language is to remove any financial barrier to participating in our camp programs through grant funding and private donations. We will also strive to subsidize the cost of appropriate clothing, transportation and food.

Our day camp programs will bridge the programming gap between our child care and school.
